These tanks will require some slight modifications to the bolt hole areas in order to do a proper install.
The pictures are showing you the front of the gas tank as it would be installed in your car. That puts the filler opening under your hood, on the driver side (U.S.) of the car.

Originally marketed as a 16 gallon tank.
However when installed in a bug body, due to the installed angle of the tank, actually holds less.
We notice 14-14.3 gallon capacity in a bug or ghia
Not for super beetle
Requires 211 201 551 cap (also known as part# 95-2005-B) & tap kit 131 298 221.
Rinse these out with 1 gal of gas prior to install.
Tank comes black but if you spill gas on it the black quickly washes right off, since it is only a light primer.
Comes in an oversize box.
