I bought this a year ago and since have done the following to it:
New battery
Assorted gaskets, seals & hardware
New 2052cc turnkey engine with powder coated tins
New Compufire 65,000 volt ignition system
New tachometer installed in radio block off plate
New Stainless Steel Thing Shop exhaust
New Steering box by TRW, flex disc, damper & ball joints
New front & rear rubber brake lines
New shocks front & back
New turn signal switch
New wiper switch
New ignition switch
New wiper motor rebuild by Thing Shop
New Carter Electric fuel pump & fuel lines
New auto trans starter
New clutch disc & p-plate
New transmission oil
New clutch cable & bowden tube
New throttle cable
New shift bushing, shift coupler, short throw kit, shift boot
New spare tire & rim & hold down bracket
New VW jack clamp
New Aluminum seat belt hooks
New steering wheel cover
New speedo cable
New convertible top hold down straps
New heater tubes inside the car
New engine compartment seals
New engine compartment wiring
New magnetic mount lights to use when towing behind your vehicle
Installed type 4 heat boost fan for forced air cooling (for extreme heat days driving) to the back of the engines cooling fan opening. Installed passive air intake ducting under car to allow fan to draw cold air and push it into the engines fan opening.
Steam cleaned the underside of the car
Steam cleaned the heater boxes (no musty smell)
Thoroughly inspected, repaired & adjusted all brakes to perfect working order.
Greased the front beam
Installed hidden white LED lights inside the fresh air intake pods on the rear of the car, to come on with the headlights.
Car has:
new top and all new windows (with new storage bags)
new 'body apart' paint and all the beading and welting is new
new headlights, tail lights, turn signals & mirrors
new low back (factory) seats front and back (rebuilt & powder coated by the Thing Shop)
new high back (factory) seats, front, modified for 2" more legroom (being rebuilt by the Thing Shop)
new seat belts
new rubber floor matting
new Thing Shop, Thing cover (shaped to the Thing)
recently powder coated bumpers, brush guard & original rims (installed now)
Odometer recently stopped working at 33281 miles
