This dual relief block came to us as a running single port core engine out of a Bug we were putting a new engine into.
We tore it apart somewhat to steam clean and inspect it.
Painted the tins, adjusted the valves, replaced the distributor, replaced the fuel pump, replaced the spark plugs, changed the oil & cleaned the screen, dialed in the carb, set the timing and it ran great...except, it had a combustion gas leak on the 3-4 head.
It has 40 pounds oil pressure at idle and 50 pounds at high rpm.
Then, we tore it down to the block
Decided to replace the rods & rod bearings with new
Replaced the 85mm p/cyl kit with a new 87mm set (1641cc)
Replaced the old single port heads with new German Dual Port heads (7.9:1 Compression)
Replaced all pushrod tubes
Cleaned the rocker assemblies
Cleaned the p-rods
New valve cover gaskets
