The body of the valve has METRIC threads (10 x 1.0 bubble flare), just like your brake lines on your bug.
This 2 psi valve is the popular choice for use with disc brakes.
Generally a brake fluid residual pressure valve is used to keep a minimum constant line pressure to help eliminate excessive pedal travel and create a much firmer & responsive pedal feel.
This is made from color coded billet aluminum.
Marked for easy identification and in-line mounting using standard metric brake line threads (10 x 1.0). You can thread your metal vw lines into this.
Empi packaged.
On our install shown, we are using disc brakes on the rear, so we used an early m/cyl with a 19mm bore* and the valve on the line feeding the rear brakes.
*the car was already set up for this style m/cyl, otherwise we would have used the 20.6mm bore dual circuit m/cyl
