If you have a stock oil fill with a stock oil fill cap, this is the nut that holds the oil fill can to the generator or alternator stand.
Take off your oil fill cap and look inside there. You'll see a steel nut with 2 slots.
If you cracked yours or lost it while tearing things apart, this is the replacement.
