This speedo needs the inductive sender, not supplied, to function.
The speed sensor necessary to provide the signal to this speedo is NOT included.
The sensor is available from VDO (not Empi) as part# 340 011; 340 012; 340 013; or 340 014 for a HALL effect type.
A generator sensor is part# 340 001, also from VDO.
An Inductive sensor is part# 340 020 or 340 021 and are available from your auto parts dealer, like Carquest, AutoZone, Checker etc.
If you use an Inductive sensor, you'll also need to purchase 4 magnets to place evenly around your axle or cv joint. You'll then need to mount a bracket coming off an existing bolt or nut on the side of your tranny. That bracket will have to hold the sensor just slightly away from the magnets.
ANY Hall sensor or Inductive sensor will work properly with this speedometer, if you follow the directions that ome with the sensor.
