Have you bought a VDO amp gauge and looked for diagram C and it's not there? Yea, me too. Here's real install instructions.
The wire from the ignition in dia D that goes to the +L on the gauge ACTUALLY goes on the fuse box along with the FAT RED wire with the WHITE STRIPE that comes up from the voltage regulator.
The other wire from +L goes to the B+ spade on the v- regulator, that would normally go off towards the battery.
The wire that goes from +B on the gauge and is supposed to go to the + on the starter, can go DIRECTLY to the + on the battery. This eliminates the wire (that came with the car) from the v-reg to the battery.
One post on the light goes to a good ground. The other post goes to a headlight "switched on" position connection at the fuse box.
Now you are done. |
