Description: a tachometer diode is needed to eliminate erratic operation in tachometers.
You already have your tach wired up and working but it jumps all over the place when the engine is reving steady. YOU NEED THIS.
Also known as part# 2760-1104.
The diode comes with long wire ends. Cut them to approx. 3/4".
On the end of the diode that has a silver band, crimp a 1/4" (standard sz) female spade connector.
On the opposite end, crimp a butt connector.
Connect the butt connectors free end to the ignition signal source, whether it is your coil negative wire or your alternator wire.
Connect the female spade connector we mentioned above, to terminal #4 on the back of the tach.
